I loooooove Spring!

This tag has been floating around over Youtube, and I secretly love this kind of things to do soooooo here we gooooooooo....

Favorite Spring nail polish?

I like to wear purples, pinks and mint. My favorite is nr. 153 Lagoon by Mavala.

What is your must-have lip product this Spring?

Always protect your lips against the sun. This is Labello with SPF30, I always use sunscreen  also in the Winter. All year round baby!

Show us your favorite Spring dress

I love this dress! Look how fun and Springy it is! It is not in my possession yet, I still have a coupon which I received for my birthday from my lovely friends. So I certainly will redeem it and buy this dress :)

What's your favorite flower?

Orchids!!! It used to be my grandpa's favorite flower as well :) For his last birthday he received so many he could start an orchid garden haha!

Favorite Spring scarf/accessory?

Clip in hair flowers. A must have for any rockabilly gal.

What Spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year?

Well, I think that pastels are nice. It looks feminine and it goes with anything.

Favorite Spring candle?

Vanilla and Orchid. I buy my candles at Action, very cheap and you get a huge candle for your money.

Favorite seasonal food in Spring?

Easy pick.....EASTER EGGS!!!!

Favorite perfume for Spring?

Lolita Lempicka, sweet but mature.

What is Spring like where you live?

I live in Holland, so Spring is cold. It does get a bit warmer but the temperature doesn't go above 12C. That is 53,6F. YES that cold. Further the flowers are starting to bloom and the trees get green leafs. Today it is sunny but there is a cold wind, and it is 4C that is 39,2F.

What's your favorite thing about Spring?

The sun coming out, flowers everywhere, peeling off a bit of clothes. Eating easter eggs and the fact that there is no snow anymore.

Are you a Spring cleaner?

Yes and no. I like my house clean and I am willing to go the extra mile but I don't get obsessed with cleaning.

Any plans for Spring break or an upcoming vacation?

We just bought a house ....so no we don't :P

Birthdays, being ill and a review.

Hey there, yes I am still alive! It's been kinda busy lately with birthdays and I wasn't feeling too well. My boyfriend celebrated his 30th birthday and our little cousin turned 2. For Wesley his birthday I made some yummy food.

Stuffed eggs

Mushroom soup

Apple/cinnamon cake

More snacks waiting in the fridge

I still have a nasty cold, so I am still not feeling 100%

BUT...on to the review.....

Nivea body milk the shower edition

I mentioned this product a few posts ago. So basically you use this after you washed yourself in the shower. It has the same texture as regular body milk, so it is very runny. It does make your skin feel soft, but I prefer something more rich like a body butter. Especially now, my skin is recovering from all the winter violence. If you want to try this, you can buy it at the drugstore. I bought mine at Kruidvat.
the regular price is about 6 euro's but I got it on sale for 4.

Sorry I have been gone for a while, I am going to write new posts right now :)

I'll leave you with a random cute picture of Diablo <3

How I made a magic rod...

Aloha, alohaaaa everyone! In this post I want to show you what I have done with the giant branch we took home from the forest. I turned it into an Ice Queen staff. At least my version of it...

Here we go!

Here we have the branch, in it's natural form.

I used silver spray paint to cover the entire branch.

After the spray paint had dried I used spray glue and a whole lot of glitter! I used dark blue, light blue, silver and iridescent glitter.

The next step was adding fake flowers. I cut off the stem and used iron wire to attach them to the branch, trying to hide it as much as possible.

The final step will be done the day before we are heading to the Elf Fantasy Fair, and that is to spray it with fake snow. I hope that will turn out OK.

What do you think? Any suggestions to alter it? Or should I leave it like this?

bye bye xx

Empty products - January and February

This post is about products that I have used and that are empty. It is a popular thing on blogs and youtube so I have decided to give it a try. I will tell you about my experience with the product and if I will use it again. I will also provide you with the info about how much it cost, where to buy and the content.

1. A sample of Biosilk Cleanse volumizing shampoo
Content: 15ml
Price: free with a purchase
Where to buy: Douglas
My experience: It smells nice, it leaves my hair feeling soft and looking shiney. Not much volume though. Maybe if you use the whole range it will give your hair volume? Note: I have very thick and coarse hair!
Repurchase?: Yes, after I have finished my other shampoos. (I am hoarding that stuff)

2. Small tube of Replay Jeans Spirit! shower gel
Content: 50ml
Price: it was a gift for my birthday it came in a set with a bottle of perfume.
Where to buy: the drugstore (Kruidvat, DA, Etos etc.)
My experience: Definitly girlie and sweet!  I like the smell but more for Summer.
Repurchase?: Maybe in the Summer. I usually wear musk and oriental perfumes.

3. Benefit 'that gal' brightening face primer
Content: 11ml
Price: about €27
Where to buy: Sephora
My experience: this is my go to primer! I love it I love it I love it! A little goes a long way, this tube last me 3 months. I used it almost every day. I was ill for one week and sometimes on Sunday it is no make-up day. So maybe 2, 5 months.
Repurchase?: yes :)

4. NYC Natural Matte foundation in 001 Ivory.

Content: 30ml
Price: about €5
Where to buy: the drugstore
My experience: I have so much trouble finding the right foundation because I am so pale. Even as a make-up artist you sometimes struggle with your own complexion. We're all human after all. I have tried many different foundations from high to low end but this one works for me. It gives medium coverage and the anti-shine seems to do a great job as well, but not for 8 hours as it claims on the tube. I also always use a powder to set my make-up. But overall it is a great product for a good price.
Repurchase?: I already have, this is a picture of the new tube. Maybe next up I will try their skin matching one.

Have you used one of these products? Let me know what your experiences are!
Bye! xx

EU banned animal testing for cosmetics!

Today is a happy day for all the animals that were used for testing cosmetics on. Today, the 11th of March the EU has banned animal testing for cosmetics! Put on your party hats and dancing shoes and celebrate!

Here is a cute clip from http://www.proefdiervrij.nl

In 2009 10 out the 13 tests were already banned, and today the final 3 are banned also. They were awful tests and most of the times animal died a very painful death. The final three tests that are banned are:

toxic effects on reproductive efforts: applying chemicals to determine the damage on reproductive organs and possible offspring.

sub-chronicle toxic effects: what is the long term damage to cells and organs when a chemical is repeatedly applied to skin or via the respiration system?

toxic-kinetic effects: applying toxic chemicals to a testing animal to determine the effects how the animal is processing the chemicals in the body.

I have translated this from the proefdiervrij site so excuse my terminology if it's not entirely correct.

1....2....3...... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!! NO MORE!

On this page you can find which cosmetics are made in the EU and are cruelty free now:

Monthly discovery - February

I am in loooove with the following product: the face polisher by Sabon.

At first I was a bit sceptic about it. The product smells quite strong, it is a menthol smell. That pulled me off at first but I got curious how it would feel and work on the skin. It's a face scrub and I have very sensitive skin. Whenever I use a new product and my skin disagrees with it I will break out the day after, sometimes even a few hours later. So after a week I first heard about it I wanted to give it a go. First of all, you get a lot of product for your money(200 ml). It is not cheap (€27, 95) , at least that is my opinion. A little goes a long way, so that is a nice bonus too. It feels refreshing on the skin and does a great job scrubbing off the dead skin. Another great thing is that it doesn't contain icky stuff! Paraben and SLS freeeeeeee! Good stuff in there: lemongrass oil. My skin feels super soft and I certainly will continue using this product!

A walk in the forest.

Last Sunday we decided to have a nice walk in the forest. Little Diablo was very excited and ran around like a headless chicken! I was there with a mission: finding the perfect magic wand for the Elf Fantasy Fair. Well actually a stick which I can decorate, but a magic wand sounds more fun. I am going to be an Ice Queen for a day :) I have been to the EFF twice but not dressed up and this year I wanted to go all out.

Wesley, Diablo and me

my little friend <3

I found one!!

Now let me tell you something more about the Elf Fantasy Fair. It's basically a giant meeting of fantasy and syfy lovers. You can choose to dress up as a character or to be just yourself. I loooooove fantasy and this is actually the first time ever I am creating a costume. I dressed up once as Xena the warrior princess when I was 11. So the fantasy loving started very early. At the EFF they have acts, workshops, music, a marketplace, gaming, food and more. But the best part is, that everything is fantasy related! Even the food has magical names, and they created special Elfia mead. Elfia is the magical place that is the EFF. I am soooooo excited to go!!! Check out their site, it is in English and in Dutch EFF LINK

I will leave you enchanted and bedazzled!
Bye! x
