I am a winner!

Hello everyone!

Last week has been fun, I was chosen by Sleek make-up as one of the Valentine's contest winners. Me and 9 other lucky ladies have received a very nice red lipstick called Russian Roulette. They even included a little personal note, so sweet of them <3

I am going to try it out and put a review up on here.
While I am on the subject of beauty, please take the time to check out my new facebook page http://www.facebook.com/RomyOverdorpMUA. I will post pictures and you can contact me there for any business inquiries. The personal stuff and reviews will always be posted here on my blog. The facebook page is in English and as well in Dutch. I thank you in advance for checking it out :)

Sooooo...last Saturday it was time to go to the 'Huishoud beurs'. My goodness is was crowded like you don't want to know! I got a little freaked out by the masses of people trying to make their way to the stand they wanted to go. I managed to get some nice freebies! Magazines (Grazia, Viva and another one which I can't remember at the moment), free coca cola, cool photo shoots with TLC, face cream by eucerin, free food tasting, free zeeman t-shirt which you had to use in a photoshoot and a few other stuff.
free cola!

As far as new stuff goes that was presented at the fair, I was kinda disappointed. Nothing really tickled my fancy except for one thing: The nivea shower body lotion. I tried it and wanted to buy a bottle but they already ran out of it!! I was so bummed, but a nice Nivea lady told me it was going to be on sale in a local drugstore called Kruidvat this week so I will still be able to get it for a reduced price. Oh my did I get spoiled by my mom and aunt as well!! My aunt bought two tubes of Therme shower gel for me, and it smells so so good! She treated my mom and I to 'poffertjes' which are basically little pancakes with butter and powdered sugar. Then my mom, she spoiled me to bits I tell you... She got me an entire new outfit <3 Grey leopard jeans, a cute cream white top with roses and a studded feaux leather jacket. There was also a disney stand where they sold so much cute stuff. My mom got me a princess mug <3
me and my mug

At the Milka chocolate stand they had a deal going on with some new products a bag filled with 4 different items for 3 euro's. She got me that as well. She also got me crisps with cream cheese. yum yum! I treated myself to a new necklace and nivea shower gel and hairspray. It was a fun but tiresome day. Next year we won't go in the weekend, it is just waaaaay to busy.

Goodnight! X

Flu oh flu...

I have been ill last week. The flu got me knocked off my feet. Thankfully I feel a lot better now :) This Saturday my mom, my aunt and I are going to 'de huishoudbeurs'. It's a fair for showing new products on the subject of food, drinks, cleaning products, health and beauty. It really is a day out for women all ages. Well maybe not children, they will be bored stiff :P
I am curious to find out if anything exciting will tickle my fancy.

My studies are going well, I have finished the first part they send me. Now I will have to wait for the next package. Love it!
I am also loving the February glossy box, some good stuff in there! I will let you know how some of the stuff works out.

Goodnight x

Creative cookie in the making

A lot of things have happened since we moved into our new house.
The 30th of December was my birthday and I turned 25. It was a busy but fun day. I chose a vintage style cake with roses.

The day after that was the 31st so that meant party on New Year's evening. I had a blast singing karaoke songs by Steppenwolf and Patsy Cline. Then the 2nd of January it was my dad's birthday. More cake and naughty stuff to eat :P Then there was my boyfriend's sister her birthday and his dad's birthday. I also payed several visits to the hospital which all went well. My physiotherapist recommended me a second opinion for my knee problem, which I have a appointment with in March. The 2nd of February was my mom's birthday and last Saturday, the 9th it was my aunt's birthday. You can imagine I don't want cake for quite a while. My aunt decided to have a high tea party in the local tea room in Uithoorn. It was really good, there were sandwiches, chocolates, cupcakes, chocolate cake, scones, quiche and ice cream. Oh and tea of course!

Now for the title of this post, I am busy studying for special effects make-up artist. I already have a diploma for make-up but that's the cosmetic kind, I also want to create different characters and really get into the trade. I know there a lot of people out there who do this kind of work. But it's something I love and really want to do.

That's it for now, just a small update about what's going on at the moment.
Bye! x

Monthly discovery - January

Every month I will blog about a new product that I have tried and love.
Last month it was: Ahava: Time to clear, all in one toning cleanser.

It is a-mazing! I got this product in a glossybox so I got a 30ml sample. It not only removes dirt from your face, but you can use it as a make-up remover for your eyes as well. It doesn't make me break out, and it also doesn't make my skin dry and itchy. What makes it awesome is because of what's NOT in it:
paraben free
SLS/SLES free (sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate)
Yup, that's the hardcore stuff they left out so you are left with a nice soothing product. It contains good stuff like Deadsea minerals and witch hazel. I apply it all over my face and remove the excess with a cotton pad. You don't have to rinse off the product.
There is one tiny thing that bothers me, and that is the smell. When you take a sniff it smells nice at first. But when you work the product it starts to smell weird. Maybe it's just me, but it smells a bit stuffy. Overall it is a great product and it lasts you a long time. My 30ml sample isn't empty yet!

*Glossybox is paid with my own money*

See you in the next post!

Living room update!

Hi guys, it's been a while since we had no internet for about 2,5 months. I promised to keep you updated on the progress of our new house.
You remember the mess it was?
Here is a little picture update for you:

After we removed all the wallpaper we had to prime the walls for the plaster. That's the yellow stuff you see, kinda like when you're applying make-up. First get the base right before you proceed :P

Look at the difference! It's a nice clean wall now!

Random cute picture of Diablo :)

Applying some color...

Our lovely neighbor helped out with the paintwork and he also offered to place the floor! I was so flabbergasted that I forgot to take pictures of the end result when there was no furniture yet.

So are you ready for the transformation?.....

How about that, huh? :D
